Patience and Life!

Not taking time for things - that's basically been my life lately! I always seem to find something to occupy my time, but when looking back on it I have no idea what it is. Please tell me this is just pregnancy phase and my life will go back into order someday? =)

What's going on -

I reactivated my face book account. It's been fun, still waiting for that new phase to wear off! Friend me.

Playlist.com is entirely too much fun - I had a bunch of songs to add to it yesterday. I need to do that later on. Do you have it? I think you can follow each other, I better look into that.

I've been working on teaching Landen the virtue of patience, since he's been having a bit of a problem with that (as well as myself). Yesterday Amelia and him are sitting at the table waiting for lunch and they are being incredibly crazy impatient. I told Landen he needed to ask God for some patience - Landen: God, Please give me some patience right now. WAIT. Amelia needs more patience than me. Me: Laughing hysterically in the kitchen. We're working on it!!!

Amelia is really wanting to be potty trained - ugh! She doesn't really get it yet, but wants to go on the potty and quite honestly it's annoying. We brought the potty chair up and it's more of game than anything. I hate to discourage but she doesn't really 'understand' the whole concept. She does go poopy on the potty almost every day though. It's a start!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant now - basically looking the same as I did a few weeks ago because of the fact that I plumped up nice and big right away. Mom got the heart beat a week ago. That was exciting - everything is super! I've already gained a whopping 12 pounds - ha ha ha, told you I gain my weight in the beginning - well and the end. I'm watching what I eat now since I can and don't get crazy sick if I don't eat constantly and anything that looks good. Don't worry, I'm not going crazy or anything. Cupcakes are sitting on the counter if that tells you anything.

Sara and Jake's wedding is the 20th, I'm excited! I got some shoes for $5 to wear. I still need to find a cardigan for Amelia, a little barrett and get her some tights. I suppose I won't be tan because the tanning lotion turned me into an Oompa Loom pa (depressing). I'm trying to embrace the fact of being white. I'm thinking some shimmer lotion will make a difference. Beck, I need to get that from you.

Kurt is back into the thick of things with school. Yuck! I hate it - he's gone every Wednesday night for class and ever other Friday all day, which makes him have to work 10 hour days and then come home and do a lot of home school. Is Spring Break almost here or better yet, the end of school?

We've kind of decided to work with Landen about going to sleep on his own. We read to him, say prayers but then lay with him for 15 minutes until he falls asleep. So, we're working on him going to sleep on his own after the books and prayers are said. He's not going for it at all! Me: I'm going to be right in the other room, you can do it I know you can. Landen: No mom, the monsters come out when you leave. Me: No, there are no such things as monsters. Landen: Yes there are, I saw them. Me: No, only make believe in books and tv. God didn't make monsters. Landen: Mom, you don't know, the monsters come out even with night lights and they come out when mom and dad's go away. Me: No honey, I promise God didn't make any monsters. Landen: thinking for awhile... Hmm... you better just stay here. Why does everything have to defeat what you're trying to teach your children? He's at such an age where he wants to understand everything, know about it and it's hard to explain completely. For example: death was another big one. Oh and we've already had the - where do babies come from, how do they get in there, and dad will pull it out right? LOL!!

Last Saturday I went to my sisters bachelorette party. It was fun, despite the fact of lateness which I hate. We went to a comedy club (that was non-x-rated) and it was hilarious. I definitely want to go again. I left Amelia and Landen with Kurt - it was a little nerve racking but I suppose we should enjoy the fact that they both can be left without being upset until the next baby arrives! Maybe a date night, what do you say honey? =)

On other eye opening news: Being sick and not being on the computer so much really opened up my eyes to realize that I don't need to be on here as much as I used to be. It's been a bit refreshing. My review blog is a bit suffering but my family is more important. However I really don't know what I've been doing though since I haven't been on the computer as much.

I found out a friend of mine actually had neurological damage from having her immunizations when she was really little. HELLO - I'm not a crazy! Still figuring out what we're going to do with Landen and his shots with school. I keep putting it off as we have over a year. I wish people would quit making silent suggestions that I'm basically an idiot for not sending my kid to preschool. Lets just say we're home schooling for pre school - why didn't I think of that before?

I'm really proud of our church and other churches doing all they can (or at least it seems) to fight FOCA and all the other abortion bills. I'm still caught up on all of that and the sight of Obama makes me sick.

I'll end with all of this for now! I miss not reading all your blogs. *hugs*

Sometimes life is busy enough without having to worry about blogging/keeping up with other people's blogs. Glad to hear you and the kids are doing well :)

You might want to read Bear Feels Scared (a sequel to Bear Snores On) It really helped Liesie understand "scared" and "safe".

YOU know YOUR kid best so just ignore any rude comments about preschool. I don't know why anyone thinks it's THEIR business. Personally I think it's a very hard decision whether to send them or not based on your individual child not just because 'all your friends are doing it'!!

Vaccines are hard to decide about... we are losing our herd immunity. Between immigration and parents not doing any of them, our chances of being exposed are increasing.

Just last week my husband had a student come down with Rubella! (I freaked out that the exposure came home and had my midwife test my immunity the next day!)

I too am worried and decided that Charlotte would get her vax on a modified schedule. I can't find a doctor who will break them up for me, but I have been pretty picky with her about what kinds she can have at the same time, if any.

Good luck!
