Lets make believe

I love Landen's little imagination! Today he's been in this box with two spatula's paddling his boat. LoL! What's even cuter is that he keeps asking that Amelia (mel-ia) gets in and rides with him. The other day he had a pot and was using it as a hat!

Today we were also playing trains - he loves trains! Of course we all had a turn with the two trains. Even Amelia! Sometimes he's not very good with sharing with others, but lately he's been very good with Amelia. Always wanting her to play with him... cars, trains, hockey, etc.

Right now, he has the rods from the dry rack (that he takes apart - what is it with boys taking things apart? I remember my brother Adam taking everything apart - now he's really good at fixing things so I suppose I shouldn't worry about it!) and is playing guns with them. Earlier he was fishing with them. Using them as poles and catching fish... got that from little bear.

Here are my two little sweet hearts!

Apples-N-Oranges Giveway

I really like these gramma hats from Apples-N-Oranges. That's why I'm posting this so I can get a second entry in on their giveaway. Haha! They really are super adorable and even though Landen's head is too big for one - Amelia's is not! Hopefully I can win. To enter this fabulous giveaway click here. To check out these cute hats, click here. I love the friendly monster in pink. Cute! Good luck!

Uh Oh - She's Off

Amelia has decided she no longer likes her infant seat. Today she scooted herself right out until her head was were her little tush was supposed to be. Hmm! I think she's a little young for this. A couple days ago she scooted herself as far under the couch as she could fit.. which is only to her butt.

She also has decided that by screaming when she looses her toys (which she has just started playing with) she gets her way very quickly. =) She is now asleep again so I can finish cleaning up my mess from making all that delicious food.

The baby girl in her drooled on pink shirt and quirky smile!

A New Baby

My Stay at home Catholic Mom friend Kate had her baby girl.

She doesn't have any pictures or anything up on her blog - Hey, I don't even know if she's home from the hospital. I'm excited for her and her family!

Congratulations Kate!

Ooohhh Contests - I won one!

A couple of contests for anyone to Enter. Remember - you do not have to have a blog to enter.

First off - Andrea over at The Laughs will go On is giving away this great instructional DVD for baby-wearing. It's called Tummy 2 Tummy. Check it out. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I need this because I still have freak out moments about carrying Amelia. Click here to enter!

Next, Stephanie at Adventures In Babywearing makes the cutest things by knitting. Yes, I said knitting. I used to be one of those people who thought only grandma's knitted and it turned out old fashioned looking. Well her stuff is so cute! She's giving away this totally cute cactus scarf. Click here to enter.

D&E Reviews are always having a fun contest to enter. Click here for their latest contest.

Oh and just so you all know. You do win things when you enter contests. I won the Name Your Tune CD from Andrea's The Laughs with Go On! I can't wait to get it, but I might give it to Landen as a Christmas present so I might have to wait. Will see. That just tells you - you should enter contests! I used to say - I never win anything - but not anymore. =) That's it for now!

Maybe I'll eat a few Snickers

Today we had our friends Teri and Liesie over to play for a bit. I hadn't realized it had been so long since they had been at our house. We've seen them at other things, but never over to play. I was very proud of Landen - he was sharing so nicely, until he went into some sort of fit. He just wanted to sit on my lap with a blanket and didn't want to share or have Liesie in any other room. He seems very sleepy right now and is about ready for a nap, so I hope it was that and the combination of being hungry that made him upset.

Amelia is almost asleep here in my arms. Then I'm off to make a delightful meal for my friend Jane who had her baby a little over a week ago. I'm going this evening (alone) to take the food and get a glimpse (maybe a small hold) of the sweet baby boy. I'm making lasagna, cheesy bread and snicker salad. Yummy! Yes, I am also making it for us as well - that wouldn't be very nice to the hubby if I didn't.

Rest Time is Over.. Before it Began

Today as we were trying to have Rest Time - we used to use nap time and Landen would think we said bath time and run to the bathroom, rest time works much better. As we were on the couch watching a movie, Landen jumps up and informs me that he is - "awake mom - see my eyes are open". As he's holding his eye brows up with his finger - "see momma... eyes awake." LoL! He can't fool me - he's awake and not in a mood for a rest or nap. He's off playing cars. =)

The Latest Project

Kurt and I started our next project Friday. Fixing up our bedroom! It had the most horrible wall paper ever in there - with matching border and curtains. Hideous! Friday we tore all the paper off. It came off really well, except for a few places. Kurt got on the Internet and found a DIY for wall paper removing. You mix vinegar with warm water and spray it on there - worked like a charm. So, we didn't end up having to rent a steamer. That took us all day unfortunately. Then since we have those darn plaster walls up there we had to patch some areas and tape it all off for painting. We finally started painting Saturday afternoon, but it came to a halt because we went to Mass Saturday night. We finished late that night and had to put a second coat on Sunday morning before we left for Thanksgiving lunch - an hour away. It turned out very nice - it's a dark mahogany/burgundy with white trim. It was also a great deal, only $2.99 a gallon because this certain brand of paint was on sale at Menards this last weekend. We only used a little over a gallon. =) We still have to put new molding up near the ceiling, repaint the trim, and a few other things, but when it's finished I'll have before and after pictures. I'm just so happy to get that gross wall paper out of there. Anyway, that's what we've been busy doing around here on Kurt's long weekend off of work. Still a lot more to do, but very nice.

On a little side note - we of course couldn't sleep in there. I still walk in there and get a head ache from the fumes and it's been airing out. We've been having quite the pow wow on the floor of the little bedroom the last few nights. We brought our mattress in and that's been our bed. =) Looking forward to getting back into an actual bed instead of a mattress on the ground - hopefully tonight!

Lets make something fun with... play dough

Today I discovered that Landen loves play dough! After talking to a friend this morning, she was telling me that her son loves to play with it and will play until she says it's time to put it up. He's almost a year old than Landen, but I thought we'd give it a try. A Success!!! Only problem is - we have one color (that we got at the library) and no fun tools to go along with it. I gave him some silverware and he's been having fun for 45 minutes now. We've been making birthday cake with candles! I have to go now because the cake has to be cut - again!

Our Thanksgiving in a Nutshell

I'm finally getting a chance (maybe) to type a little post out about Thanksgiving. =) Not a lot of time around here for fun computer time (and that's what blogging is for me.)

Thanksgiving was pretty good. We went to my parents house for lunch. Everyone was home and it's always nice to see all my sisters and brothers over the holidays. Especially Emily, Maggie, Sara and Adam who I don't get to see very often. What occurred to me though is that when you grow up and start doing your own things - you become a lot different.
The food was especially good - except my mom didn't make real mashed potato's. That's my only complaint!
We went to Kurt's dad's side of the family for dinner. Unfortunately everyone decided to leave earlier than was planned so we didn't get to see everyone. =(
Then this past Sunday we went to Kurt's mom's side of the family for lunch. Almost everyone was there and it was nice to visit with everyone. We don't see them that often.
That was basically our Thanksgiving in a nutshell.

No Jury Duty -

Thanks for all the responses regarding the stupid jury duty. I called last night and it was cancelled. Woo hoo for me! I think it would be cool to sit in and hear about the crazies, but as many of you commented on - it's hard when your an exclusive breast feeding mom, your hubby works, and you don't leave your kids with just anyone. =) I'm glad to say I was able to stay home today and get a lot of the work done that needed to be done around here.

Jury Duty - Again

Tell me this - How do you get picked for jury duty? Isn't it supposed to be a random thing? How do you get picked four times in four months? I haven't had to actually go in yet, but that shouldn't make a difference. The first time was a few weeks before Amelia was born - I got a letter saying it was cancelled, or whatever happens. The second one was a couple weeks later - I was supposed to go in on my due date. Not going to happen! I called and told them very politely that I was pregnant and that was my due date. The woman that answered just said "yeah?" Like she didn't know why I was calling. I told her - "well if I'm in labor, I'm not going to remember to call the court house to tell you I won't be making it to jury duty." Duh! She had to transfer me a few times to different ladies - at the end of all that, they were very rude to me and basically told me they didn't know if I was really pregnant or not, but I was taken off. Then just three weeks ago - I got the letter again- It got cancelled. Then I got another one and I'm scheduled to go in on Monday. It doesn't seem right to me to keep getting my name drawn four times in four months. Hmm!?!?
However - let me throw this out - I'm taking Amelia with me. She's a nursing baby and what are they going to tell me? Hopefully I get sent home. =) Has this ever happened to anyone else?

The Babes!

Last night Kurt discovered that Amelia does very well being propped up to look around. I remember when Landen got to this point. I was comparing the two this morning after downloading the pictures. Landen was a lot bigger than I thought. Here's a comparison - both at four months! You can't really tell he's that much bigger, but he is. They sure change fast.

Babble Babble

I feel like blabbing about just whatever - so here's a post for that!

We decided to put Landen on vitamins. Just the Flintstones kind - I remember taking them when I was a kid. =) This will be his first winter without nursing and I think a vitamin will be good for him. He's also around other children a lot more and playing with the same toy's they are. I'm hoping to skip the throw up sickness again this year. Plus Kurt and I both take a multi-vitamin so hopefully that will keep us all healthy during the flu season. Also - I decided to start taking Flax Oil. Hopefully that will help regulate these womanly hormones that are still not in check from having Amelia.

I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving - well mostly the food! I want to see everyone, but that seems to be all going haywire all of a sudden. Who knows when some of my family will show up, and his family will all be gone by the time we get there. Sometimes, I wish there was a simple way to do the holiday stuff.

We were supposed to try to go shopping tomorrow - but the weather is supposed to be snowy (yuck) , rainy and cold so we decided against it. I have no Christmas shopping done and I really hate going after Thanksgiving because I get irritable at the crowds. I'm thinking about doing a lot online this year. Not that we have as much this year - we decided to limit it by quite a bit and stick with what Christmas is really about. =)

I found Christmas music on the music channels on tv today. Something about Christmas music is so soothing. Very wintry, but comforting and soothing. Landen seemed to like it, but maybe that's because I sing Jingle Bells all year round and he's used to it. =)

I saw a pretty red cardinal today! It reminded me of Kurt's grandma who passed away last year. Made me kind of sad. Plus my mom tells me my grandpa has a few medical problems (supposed to hear more about them later - to know the full detail) and it worries me, as he is getting older and older.

Amelia is really rolling now. Today she got from her belly to her back just as easy as she gets from her back to her belly. She seems to be doing things a little sooner than Landen did. She's able to pull herself up in a sitting position when laying back a little ways too. She's becoming strong. Probably not much longer until she's sitting up on her own. =)
Speaking of the little thing - she just pooped a big pooper and I see it going through on to her clothes. I better change her. =)

Have a good Tuesday - what's left of it.

I'm cold...

I don't like days like today. It's damp, rainy, cold, dreary, and just sad looking outside. Here's to remembering summer - which seems so long ago already.

I think I'll go make myself some warm french vanilla coffee!

The Super - Boom Boom

I haven't posted a picture of Landen or Amelia in a little while, so I had to post this one. I know it's controversial about letting your children play guns. As of right now we think it's fine if he wants to play. Lately he's been shooting the deer.. he creeps and sneaks up on them. lol! Here's a picture of the little goon! Check out that face, he put this hat on and got his little squirt gun on his own.

Oh, and why I'm thinking about it - he's wearing his Superman pajama's. These are pretty special - why you ask? Because now that he wears these, he considers himself a super. He wears the towel in the picture below (and others we have like this) over his head and runs around the house calling himself a super. Yes, I get to be a super once in awhile too. LoL! This picture is from last year because I haven't taken one of him this year running around as a super! He's really changed. Look - he has no wrists!!!!!!

Baby Wearing

I heard about this Babywearing Conference awhile ago, but thought I would share the link with everyone else, since that's what they're asking everyone to do. Chicago isn't that far and it'd be fun to meet up with some other Babywearing Mom's that I have met. Click here to enter the site and read more about it! Enter here for the page with banners for your blog or e-mail. I'll let people know if I decide to go. It is scheduled for around my birthday... maybe some birthday fun!?? Will see!

The Deer

As promised - my hubby's deer! Not quite as big as last year, but looks pretty good. I wish Kurt would smile in these pictures, but he's still a cutie!

The Beatitudes

We've been studying the Beatitudes in Familia the past month. I've learned a lot and they are some beautiful words that Jesus has given us to live by. Check out Jenn's Blog -My Musings, for her great post on the Beatitudes!

THE EIGHT BEATITUDES
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mt. 5:3-10.

New Life!

Today was the last day of Familia until January. Kind of sad, but it's so crazy over the holiday season that it's good. We will finally start year two. Looking forward to it!

My friend Jane (and basically the leader of Familia) had her baby yesterday. I'm so excited for her and the family! I pray that she has a quick recovery and a good transition with a new edition to the family. This is their fifth child, so I'm sure it will be okay. So many babies to come - Teri is due with her baby in April, another girl in our Familia is due in December. Then Kurt's cousin is due in June, another cousin is due sometime after the first of the year (I believe.) My SAHCM group friend Kate is due the end of this month, as well as some of the other mom's I know from that group. My friend Rebecca is due in June. My friend Sarah is due in March. She just had her ultrasound and is having a girl! I love all this new life. Exciting, exciting!

How can there be to many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers. Mother Teresa. This is one of my favorite quotes!

It's already over...

Kurt got a deer this morning! I don't have any pictures yet, but I will try to post one sometime this weekend.. if any of you care. =) It's an eight point buck, so super gross to eat. However... can we all just say hallelujah? Someone actually wants it to eat it and is going to take it off our hands. I'm super excited - he gets to go do his thing and we don't have to eat it. Woo hoo!

Ready for him to come home.. Already!?!?

The hubby is gone deer hunting. He left tonight and unless he gets a deer, won't be back until Sunday. Every year I tell myself, it's not that big of a deal, it's not that long, and I can drive the 1/2 hour to see him easily. But I hate it! I don't like to be alone here with the children at night. It scares me. Here I am 25 years old and get scared at night when he's gone. I have some major insecurities. Then not to mention I have to worry the entire time that he's going to get shot, fall out of a tree or something. Another thing I shouldn't worry about, growing up with deer hunters, and actually going deer hunting myself for awhile. Oh well... I'm off to go cuddle with my baby's and try to get some sleep while he's gone. I miss him. Goodnight!

Nighty night

Last night we all got in bed and laid down to go to sleep. Landen all of a sudden starts telling everyone I love you - "luv you gramma, luv you grampa, luv you Eli..." and on to name pretty much all his relatives that he knows well. Then "goodnight dark, Wal mart, toys, choo-choo train.. and on" It was so cute! Another note for bed time. A couple weeks ago I made up a story with the little boy's name being, Jack-Jack. (I didn't realize I got that off the Incredibles until Kurt pointed it out to me. Haha!) Every night now, Landen has to have a Jack-Jack story. "Jack-Jack, hockey stick, football, birthday." I'm getting a bit tired of Jack Jack!

The other night, Landen was asleep and Kurt and I were laying in bed talking. All of a sudden we hear the growling begin. Little Amelia was going crazy laying there growling. If we acknowledged her - she'd do it even more. Crazy little thing!

Traditions of Christmas

After reading Sharon's blog today, I sparked an idea to ask on my blog.

Do any of you do any neat Christmas Traditions?
Or do you do anything neat for Christmas?

  • This year I wanted to try the Three Wise Man gift idea. Kurt isn't to thrilled with it, so it might get put aside for another year. It's when your children get three gifts. Something religious, Something they Need, Something they want. I thought it would be fun and put more of a meaning to Christmas. Christmas isn't just about getting a lot of gifts.
  • We're also going to do the Advent wreath this year.. which reminds me I have to get one.
  • I Also want to wrap Baby Jesus up (from our nativity) in an extra special box with beautiful paper. Put him under the tree and have that be the first gift we open and put him in the manager. I thought about moving the three wise men all over the house during Advent, like they're traveling to see Baby Jesus, but Landen might be a little young for that. Unless I get the non-breakable Nativity. That might be an idea.
  • We're going to try to read the story of St. Nicholas on his feast day and put little toys in the kids shoes for that.
  • I'd like to actually do stocking this year as well. Let that be the presents from Santa!
I have a lot of wants to do - I'll have to let you all know if any of them actually happen. Haha!
Now that you've read what I want to attempt to do, and hopefully shared what you do. Go on over to Sharon's Blog post relating to Christmas, she wants to know when you should start to Decorate for Christmas. I'm wondering the same thing.

Why do we have to have teeth anyway...

I seriously hate molars! Landen has pretty much had a tantrum every single day this week. He's never had a real tantrum until these darn molars started coming in. Ahhhh! I hope these suckers come in fast because neither him or I can handle this much longer. Welcome to being a parent!!!

Christmas Giveaway 2007 Sweepstakes

Nerdy and Churchy

So.. guess what I did Saturday night?? Watched Star Wars.. the original ones.. fourth and fifth episodes/chapters whatever they're called. LoL! Yes, I got into them and yes, you can laugh and make fun of me.. but you'll have to make fun of Kurt too. =) I felt like a real rebel or something actually choosing to stay up until 11:00pm watching them. It was fun though. =)

Sunday my family came up to go to Mass with us. I was disappointed because the first time since Father Keenan came to our Church in July he had the Deacon give the Homily. Not that the Deacon's Homily's are bad, they aren't. My mom though has been waiting to hear Father Keenan and it' s not often they come up here. Oh well.. always another time. =)
On a Church note - I ended up in the back pretty much the entire time again. Amelia is going through the - I'm going to talk/coo/howl (whatever) very loudly, need to nurse, or cry during Mass. So we end up in the back nursing or swaying the entire time. I did find a good place to Nurse ... It's not disruptive, we can hear everything, somewhat see everything, sway, sit, whatever. The Devotional Chapel! I've been spending the majority of Mass in there lately. Mom's or Dad's come and go, it's very nice because it's quiet and usually whoever is in there is respectful of the others and realizes we want to listen to Mass or we'd be in the closed off section dealing with our children. Well this past weekend, I was kind of cranky and went to the Devotional Chapel to listen to Mass and nurse Amelia. I was kind of upset though because a mom (I haven't seen her much) just kept letting her little boy run and scream all over in there. First off, you should be able to tell when there are candles, kneelers and people who are keeping their children very quiet in there that you shouldn't be letting your kid do that. It just bothered me and she just kept laughing. Maybe I should have said something kindly to her? It's pretty clear that the closed off section is where you can let the little kids run. (Even if it's not intended for that.) I hate to be picky or mean, but I get irritated when others aren't respectful. It's hard enough getting there in one peace and keeping your two year old and four month old happy. Then when you finally find a place that you can still be there in Mass and hear, someone comes and disrupts the entire thing. I realize this happens sometimes, but there is a section if you want to do that. I've been there.. lots of times, but right now I don't have to be. This post isn't meant to be overly critical of people, it can be frustrating though. Lots of things are!

On a lighter note - Mikyla (my sis) asked me to be her Confirmation Sponsor! I'm excited and hopefully I can help her on her Faith Journey.

The cute weed...

I can't believe my baby girl is Four months today!
She's rolling over like crazy. Don't mind the drool on our couch. lol! I had to get all the 6-9 month clothes out today. She's growing like a weed, a cute weed! I'm worried though that all the clothes I got her for summer are going to be too small by then. There are some really cute ones too.

The Blog World

A couple little things about my blog... Haha!

Did you all see my widget? LOL! I am so excited I figured out how to put music on my blog. I put it so it won't play unless you press play, so press play! Israel Kamakawiwo's (however you really spell that name) song Over the Rainbow is like one of my favorites, so listen to it. =) Also, if you want to hear the whole thing your going to have to spend some time here. Not that there is a lot to see, but that's the way it goes.

I also joined Catholic Mothers Online blog roll. When I first started my blog some friends told me I should join, but I was reluctant (as I usually am with stuff on the Internet at first). However, I constantly found myself going to other's blogs to find the blog roll so I can read the blogs. I decided it was time for me to just join if I was going to be like that. You'll have to scroll down on my page to find it, but there are some really great blogs to read. So, for you that found my blog from the blog roll - Welcome.. I'm a newbie! =)

Book

I just finished reading a great book! Good News about Sex and Marriage by Christopher West. Many people told me this was an excellent book, but I kept putting it off thinking it wasn't for me. Well, hello - it was definitely for me and every other married, unmarried, engaged, single person out there. Sometimes I really can't believe how much I don't know. Not that I think I know everything on religion, sex and marriage, but every chapter, page, and question I learned something. Every time I thought of something - it was answered. This is such an excellent book. I want to recommend it to you all and please read it. Let me know what you think! You can purchase it at Amazon by clicking here. *Family and Friends - you are more than welcome to borrow it anytime. Let me know!

God sent me a little helper...

Today Landen was attacking me with a book while I was trying to nurse Amelia to sleep. She was just at that nodding off stage so I didn't want to move to the couch for story time (a lot of times we read while I nurse Amelia). I decided to distract Landen and ask him to go into the laundry room to see if the dryer was finished. I could hear that it had quit, but it distracted him. Off he went! A couple minutes passed and I decided I better lay Amelia down because he hadn't come back. On my way into the laundry room, I see him pulling the laundry basket full of the all the clean clothes from the dryer. I love my little helper. =)

Swim Fun!

Yesterday we went swimming with Teri, Liesie, Becca and Ashton. We all had to travel a bit to go, but it was well worth it (in my opinion.) It's great when you have an enclosed swimming pool just for toddlers.. And an extra bonus.. it was super warm! =) Amelia even got in on the fun.. she was so cute in her little ducky swimsuit. No, it wasn't one of those two piece, floozy swimsuits for a four month old. I really don't get the point of those suits... actually it kind of makes me sick that someone would put their little girl in something like that. Hello.. watch out when she's 13! Okay, enough with that. So, swimming was a lot of fun and Landen is quite the Houdini. I had to distract the little bugger while everyone was getting dressed to go home - so I told him to sit in one of the little lockers. LoL! That was fun, but then he decided to shut the door on himself.. so I kept having to get up and open it. Grr! Finally I told him, I'm not going to open it anymore, what did he do, shut himself in and learned how to open it from the inside. How does he figure this out??? I think he goes after his smart daddy. =) There are a couple of pictures from swimming. Sorry the picture of Amelia in the water.. should not be showed. LOL! Lets just say.. I bent over a bit to far.
After swimming we did a little stop at Kurt's mom's work - she was super excited to be able to show off her grand babies. Landen was overly tired and had to cling to me the entire time, but overall it was pretty good.

Mr Mom

I forgot about this song until today. LoL! I love it.

The Guitar Superstar

Today was story time. Landen was unbelievably good. Not once did he try to hit. He did get in a little scowl with another little boy, but they both worked it out quite nicely. =) He also had a heck of a good time playing dinosaurs with a little boy! It was so funny.. they chased each other around with dinosaurs... growling.. very loudly. Haha! Anyway, maybe I'm getting through to him about hitting and being nice.. he's been doing really well at home too. No hitting all week.. wait I think once he might have tried to hit. And.. *drum roll*... he hasn't growled to wake Amelia once this week either. Woo hoo! I have some different thoughts as to why he's being good.. more mommy attention and less television! Here's to hoping he's over his hitting stage. A lot of you have probably seen this picture.. but it's great!

Wordless Wednesday

Call me Robot Momma!

Where does my husband get these ideas? Yes he made this, and yes he took this picture! NERD!

We all change...

Ten things I've learned to not get worked up/make a big deal over since I've had children.

1. Constantly having backwash in your glass.. or floaters.
2. Puke somewhere on your clothing most of the time.
3. Getting a little poo on your hand/fingers while doing a bad diaper change.
4. Kisses that leave a food mark on your face.
5. Washing out poopy and pee pee clothes.
6. Never being able to leave the house without an extra diaper, wipes and extra clothes. When you do, that's when you'll need them.
7. Always having someone climbing on you.
8. Never being able to take a bath without an interruption.
9. Never getting to sleep in or have more than three hours of uninterrupted sleep.
10. Realizing that you could love these highly needy individuals so much! Something I will never complain about!

Play along if you want!

They all rolled over and one fell out!

Something exciting. . . Amelia has started to roll over! No, I didn't get to see her do it the first time (Sunday) because I had to have my eyes watching the television while I was sitting with her. Ha ha! Oh well, she's been rolling over though ever since. Her favorite place.. the bed! Not my favorite place for her to be rolling though. Landen gets quite a kick out of her. Today she was laying on a blanket and rolled over... Landen has to announce to me very loudly "MOM... LOOK!" They don't stay babies for very long!

Tid Bits Of This Past Week...

Yesterday was the start of a new week and I decided that we were going to have less television on during the day around here. For that to work, there had to be less computer time. So today and yesterday things have been going really well. I know it's only Tuesday, but I have to have these short term goals until we get into the swing of things! Here's to hoping we can make it through the rest of this week. =)

Friday night I went and got my hair cut off! I've been wanting to try something different with my hair style but haven't been brave enough to try something a little more bold then the regular long layers and side swept bangs. LOL! Well, Friday night I went and got it cut off... no more pony tail for me. I always just pull my hair back.. not very stylish. Well I got a asymmetrical bob. It's not real drastic because I was seriously freaking out the entire time. The girl that cut it was super nice and basically walked me through it. I felt like a nerd after I left though because usually I'm all like - "do whatever", but I decided that's when I can still whip it back and nobody can tell what happened to me. Here's a couple of pictures I tried to take this afternoon. Don't be laughing at me now! It was hard to get a photo that you could actually tell what it looked like.

Sunday afternoon we went to my sisters Mikyla and Savannah's piano recital. I enjoyed hearing them play because I hadn't ever taken the time to hear them before. I couldn't believe how good they were. They're taking from the same teacher I took from, as well as my Aunt. He's getting old! Anyway, they've only been taking for a little over a year and they're amazing... seriously! Mikyla was playing things I was playing when I had already taken for years. It makes me want to have a piano... someday!

Monday was my youngest sister Savannah's birthday! She's a Tween now.. 12 big years! She's such a doll! I only have one recent picture of her, and she'll probably get mad because she isn't totally stylen' in this picture. Haha! It was taken when a little over a month ago. Anyways, Savannah (Nanah according to Landen) is the baby girl of the family (except for Amelia I guess) - and yes, she does get treated like it. =)
