Holiday Weekend

Just a quick little bloggo post! I hope everyone is having a busy and fun holiday weekend. We're celebrating with family. Everyone is going to be around and I'm anxious to see everyone. asking a favor?

I have a big favor to ask my blogging readers... would you please help me out and give me some much needed advice as to what I'm doing wrong on my Review blog. I went from 80 some comments down to 30 some in the matter of two weeks. I'm not doing anything different. Why the drop? All I can think of is the stuff that's up for grabs right now might not be as appealing!?? If you could add my button to your site, or even write a small post about my trying to get going Review blog I would really appreciate it. I'd be glad to return the favor.

Shake Your Boobies

As promised I got a few video's of Amelia dancing. The ones that she was standing alone weren't all that great. A big brother kept knocking her down with his mad dancing skills. I have to post both of these because I like them both. The second one she wants the next song to come on for more dancing. Sorry about the laundry disaster. Enjoy! Oh and a quick funny to go along - I always say to Amelia "shake your boo-tay or your body" well Landen mis understood me and now goes around saying "shake your boobies, shake your boobies". Ha ha! Sorry these are so dark, they weren't when I viewed them before. =(

Finally The Pictures

I decided to go ahead and take some pictures yesterday of the living room with the new curtains and furniture. I need to get curtain rods because these are just up on rods that aren't supposed to been seen and someday I'd love to get a big round rug but with how expensive those are I'm just going to keep my eye out for a deal. I forgot to take before pictures - ugh - oh well! I love the new furniture and even though my curtains aren't professional I think they look good! Also, I got all the material for $20 because I had a coupon. Do you like? =)

Embarrassing Moment Of The Day & Discipline

Today is the big hockey tournament which lasts all day - we've been back and forth sense about 10:00 this morning and their last game is at 9:00pm. Yikes! I don't know if the kids and I will make it that long - Landen's been on a hockey buzz all day without a nap.

So anyway.. I nursed Amelia (the little sip she would actually take - entirely too much excitement at the court) and I guess at some point I forgot to clip up the nursing bra. Ahh! I'm not really sure how long I went around like that, luckily I was wearing Amelia . . . some of the time. I can just imagine - all these people wondering what in the world is that lop sided thing doing running around like that. I didn't notice until I was in the car to come home. Ha ha ha.. that's all I can do now!

Secondly - I had to half yell at two little kids today. Firstly a child that couldn't of been much over 2 was riding/trying to ride a tricycle bike and was going back and forth on the road (a busy road) luckily me and another car stopped and made sure he was safely across and wouldn't let others go. Then I had to yell out my window for him to go home. I seriously cannot stand to see these little kids doing this ALONE - there was not a parent in site. Ahhh! Then Landen and some little guy were playing out on the hockey court, having a grand ol' time until the kid throws this big heavy ball right at Landen's face. I stopped myself from reacting, just waiting to see how Landen handled it (after all he doesn't need me racing to every scene) he politely says "kid you hurt me"... the kid did it again... so Landen again says "kid stop it, that's hurting me"... the kid chucks it at him again (as I'm getting up) and thankfully misses. I race out there (and oh... the mom is sitting on her b/f lap *gag*) and say "we don't throw balls at our friends faces, we throw them at the net." The kid just mumbled something out, not really knowing what to say to a parent saying something to him. I tried to make it nice and played with them but then he just wanted to throw it again - so I said "we can't play with people that aren't nice" and walked away. Landen was upset saying "mom, I loved that kid and he hurt me." He had no idea how to handle it - I felt so sorry for him. *sigh* Did I do the right thing? I'm not about to teach Landen to "fight back"... but what teach him to "run?" I'm proud of him for not throwing the ball he had back at the kid. I don't know if I did the right thing or not really... what are your thoughts?

Great Garage Sale Find

I'm excited - today the kiddos and I decided to venture out and see if we could find any good garage sales. I haven't hit hardly any garage sales this year because it's hard with both the kids. Amelia and Landen were excellent and I got this six compartment toy holder thing for the toy room. These are expensive to buy new and I got it for $2. It's exactly what I've been looking for to help organize all the toys. I had to tell someone!!!!

A Look Only a Mother Could Love!???

I love when your kids personalities really start showing and Amelia definitely has a little sass to hers! I had to show these pictures I took today - she does this face all the time. The little nose scrunch. She was totally posing for these pictures too - once she realized I was going to take her picture while doing her "nose scrunch" she just kept doing it over and over again. Little ham!

Could she possibly be related to Popeye here.

thoughts of a mom

Well Amelia and I are feeling a lot better, thank goodness. We still aren't completely better but they say you need to take the medicine for two weeks and it's only been a few days so I think that's a vast improvement.I just hope we don't get it ever again. I decided to start taking my vitamins and flax oil regularly again - I've been a real slacker in that area and that could count for all these problems. I'm going to wait and see how that works before I purchase the moducare immunity booster, but if I get one more breast infection I'm going on that no matter how much money in costs. I got Landen back on his little vitamins and Amelia should be fine if I'm taking mine and still nursing as much as she is.

I've been working hard here on my new curtains. I have one done and another just waiting to be sewn together. Then we have a rather large window that is going to be difficult to do, but I'm up for the challenge. I promise once I get those done I will have pictures - I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately. Man, kind of feels like our life is in a slump or something. We got our new entertainment/shelf center that Kurt's grandpa made - seriously it looks just like the one I found on Pottery Barn. I love it!

I've been staying up way to late watching the Olympics! Anyone else enjoying?

Landen's turning into quite the little man - yesterday he explained to me (he had two types of rice) that he didn't not like the spicy rice, but he liked the white rice better. I thought that was pretty good! Amelia refuses to walk but has been doing some great dancing standing alone - I really have to get a video, it's so funny! I've been trying to make sure she eats three meals a day with us and is nursing just as much to gain a little weight. I don't believe she's too skinny, but I haven't been that good about offering her as much food as she wants; so I'm going to work on that.

I'm really proud of my Review blog - it's really taking off. I've discovered how to make my own buttons and everything. I think it's looking good and I'm having a lot of fun doing reviews and e-mailing back and forth with the different sponsors. It's a little more work than anticipated, but I've been slowing up a bit now that I have things more figured out. Thanks to Andrea from The Laughs Will Go On who explained to me how to get going! =)

We have a grand tent made and now that Amelia is done nursing Landen is ready for an adventure. Have a great day!

Thanks for all the helpful advice and sympathies from you all about the thrush. We're trying some Nsytatin and hopefully that clears it up. As for the Doctor; lets just say it didn't go well and we're once again looking for a good family Doctor. This time I think we're just going to have to go Interviewing because so far the ones that have been recommended too me are not okay for us.

A Little Sympathy!

Ouch, ouch, ouch! If you haven't had thrush along with your baby than hooray for you because this is horrible. I didn't even realize Amelia had it until my nipples were cracked and hurting so bad I didn't want her to nurse. She's been teething so I was blaming all that on her biting me every chance she got. Unfortunately after a good examine of her mouth and realizing that I'm not going to be cracking a bleeding like this from a few bites - we now know we have thrush. This weekend has been quite excruciating with the small but monthly breast infection flaring up again and my baby girl nursing as often as she does. I decided I could suck it up until after the weekend to get into the Doctor. So we're headed in there for 3:30pm to hopefully get some relief - well for me to get some relief, Amelia acts like nothing is bothering her. While we're there we're going to see what he thinks about Amelia's sensitive skin and her poor face that just doesn't stay cleared up for long; even after ditching the pacifiers. I talked to my mom and I'm thinking about taking some sort of immunity booster - with these frequent breast infections and we seem to be catching everything and anything I don't think it'd hurt. I'm just ready to be healthy for more than a month at a time. Wish me luck because I'm sure the immunization thing will get brought up and other things.

Seems that I'm a blogger maniac today. Four posts here and posts over on my review blog - plus I got all the laundry done and lots of other chores. Guess what.. my furniture is delivered on Wednesday between 12-3pm. I'm excited!!!!!! Off to watch the Olympics!

Oh, so much excitement!

Where to even begin - a lot has been going on here!

Last week my sister moved into a cozy little place just like two minutes from us. We can walk there! I'm so happy to finally have family so close by. Hopefully she'll like it in our somewhat boring of a town.

Friday we all went wedding dress and bride maid dress shopping. When I say all of us; there was eleven of us! My sister Sara is having all her sisters stand up in her wedding (six of us) so there's a lot of excitement there. Sara tried on tons of dresses and looked gorgeous, (and I'm not just saying that) in all of them. Honestly, I'm pretty sure my sister could be a model for magazine's, she was however on the cover of our local junior colleges catalog. She's so photogenic and she sparkles in all the dresses. The one I believe she has picked is beautiful and for a candle light wedding - it's going to be stunning!! As for bridesmaid dresses - I think she's getting the color narrowed down (a beautiful brown) and going to let us all wear something similar but different to flatter all of our bodies. I'm mostly getting excited to have a sister that's married like me!

This weekend we went to the roller hockey rink and skated. Basically I'm horrible and hockey and can never again make fun of players. It was fun - Landen loved it on his new skates, Kurt got some practice in for the tournament in a couple of weeks, and Amelia basically crawled around the rink like a little crazy person. Then it started to rain and we had to leave so when we got home Landen and I jumped in the mini river flowing down the road.

Sunday we went for a hike - I decided I love hikes when I'm not tired! It was fun though and a gorgeous day for hiking. We even decided to walk across the water, which led to some great excitement from Landen & Amelia.

As for pictures, and you know I usually have them. I can't share any from the dress shopping - Jake might see them and nobody is allowed to see the bride until she's all dressed up on her big day. Only - 7 months to wait! And for everything else - I didn't bring my camera; we just enjoyed each other without the constant snapping of pictures and will remember the fun without them.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend - sorry for the catch up post. I've been a big neglectful over here - concentrating on Momma In Flip Flops2; my review blog!

You may not be the one that's writing mean things on your blog, but sometimes we have commenter's that over step boundaries, say things that are absolutely unnecessary. It's okay to disagree, but to be mean and hurtful does not do anything. I have read far to many comments from people basically being bullies. It's all over the blogosphere. If you have nothing in common with that persons blog, why are you over and over again coming, visiting and commenting or e-mailing? I often think to myself if these people are only like that because they can hide behind the computer screen - what you see in words here, is what you get in real life from me. (okay, so.. I might be a little more annoying and shy to strangers.) So to these people that have nothing better to do then comment hurtful and mean things, not even intending on listening, but picking a fight (or at least that's what it seems like) please - move on your way! I haven't had much of this myself; as my blog is small and I have mostly the same visitors. =) Bring on the mean comments. Ha ha ha! Just kidding.

I'm addicted to the smell of cleaners

Yes, I'm addicted to the smell of household cleaners. Not in a bad way you silly - let me explain!

I did a review awhile ago for Letsgogreen.biz and I have all these nice Green cleaners - they work just great. The problem is I can't get over that "it's not clean if I don't smell this strong ammonia, bleach, whatever kind of smell." What's wrong with me? What do you Green people do? Maybe it's just a hang up and eventually I'll get use to it, but right now I'm wanting to go buy the old stuff because it just doesn't seem clean without that smell. I read awhile ago (somewhere) about people thinking that their babies aren't clean if they don't have that scent that lotions and soaps leave behind. I don't have that problem - I like those scents but with Amelia's sensitive skin (for another post) I've been doing good with the sensitive no smell stuff. Tell me, if you're going Green (like it seems so many people are) do you have the problem like I do or is there something wrong with me? =)

Good Ol' Messy Fun

Landen seemed to be doing so much better this morning that we went for a long walk and then decided to do some outdoor finger painting. I found the recipe on some blog; I can't remember where or when, but managed to remember how to make it. We had lots of fun making crazy pictures and running in it and making our feet prints and hand prints. Amelia enjoyed eating it - or attempting to eat it. The fun ran sour though when Landen started feeling sick again. We're back inside taking rests! If you want something fun to do with your kids though - here's how to make it... 3 cups hot water, 1 cup cornstarch (add more if you want it thicker) and food coloring. We put it in plastic cups and used our fingers because we had no brushes. It was messy but lots of fun! We have some beautiful art work on our driveway now.. along with the chalk displays that's always there. =)
Now I just have to break out that book I just got on cool crafts for kids. Landen's getting to that age that he can really get into that sort of stuff.
