My sister Sara and I planned and put together.. what I like to think a 30th birthday Kurt won't forget. He doesn't turn 30 until Tuesday ... but Saturday when we celebrated.. was a lot of fun! There was a special cake, hilarious decor, hockey themed of course... gag gifts fit for a king and the minute to win it games. Thanks to family and friends who came! Until next time.. oh and you know there will be a next time. Enjoy reminiscing (or those of you who couldn't come.. you missed out ;) of this fun photo montage of some of the fun.

He's Four!
Landen turned four on Thursday - looking back at previous birthdays it's hard to believe how grown up he already is. The night before we took the kids to the fair to ride all the kiddie rides and check out the animals at the 4-H fair. They both loved it. For his birthday we had family over for dinner and cake and ice cream. Landen, as always had a blast playing with his "friends" (uncles) and had some priceless faces while opening gifts. A few fun pictures from the day.

Forever Posting.
I'm having tons of posts today - I guess I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long until Kurt reminded me yesterday. Summer is a busy time and I have been trying to get a lot of things done around here that seem to be more important. Read on for an update -
June 28th was my birthday, 27 years old. I have three gray hairs - that I pull out. Ha ha ha! The van needed new brakes so Kurt worked on them with my dad and we went out to dinner while the kids stayed with my family. Nothing super exciting - but wonderful to eat dinner with just Kurt!
Fourth of July weekend was busy - as always. I can't even remember everything we did. Attempted to take the kids to the $1 movie - Mary Poppins in the Historic Theater. We actually had to get up and leave, Amelia leaked in her diaper (which NEVER happens) - Landen was crabby. It was just not working. Ended up taking the kids to the fire fighters water battle thing - I thought Landen would enjoy that more. Listened to the Municipal band - pretty good. It rained the day I had a lot of really fun activities planned - we still went to Kids Zone and the kids made a craft, got a tattoo and Landen was going to be in the big wheel race but nobody informed us you had to bring your own big wheel and with it raining we didn't go back home for it. Then headed to John Deere where Landen rode/drove one of the tractors. Made it to the parade with my sister and her boyfriend who we hadn't met. It was fun and not real hot. Then watched the fireworks with Laura, Phil and their kids. It was a busy fourth, but nice to not be running all over to everyone elses things, but doing our own thing for once.
Amelia is working on potty training - she is doing really well, far better than I expected. We may be trained by the time the baby comes, if not that's okay too.
I have all the baby supplies pretty much ready, except just a few more things. Diapers are getting ordered tonight!
Teri showed me how to fix my Fuzzi Bunz so I'm working on that - it's a long yucky job but it's worth it.
I'm working on being Silent and Still after reading about it in Rediscovering Catholicism. I used to be able to do this, I think when I was more involved in FAMILIA (I guess it really does keep me on track) but have gotten away from it. It's difficult to just listen to God without thinking about every little thing I want/need to do. Some days I'm doing good, others not so much. I also picked one thing to work on to make me a better version of myself - fully giving attention to the people I'm talking with, as much as you can with being a mother who's eyes/ears area always focused on her children as well. I fail a lot but am really trying. I'm finding it's really helping with Landen and Amelia's bad attitudes they had a couple weeks ago. I do not want to deal with that again!
So, I'm tired of sitting in this chair so I'm off to work on my couch! Just an update since I haven't been updating very well. Maybe I'll keep up - one of these days. Oh and to the many of you who emailed me and I haven't responded, I will - I'm not dead!

Amelia's Birthday!
Amelia turned 2 Saturday. We didn't do a whole lot - went to church, let the kids get Happy Meals which they freaked out over. Yes, we go to McDonalds but they never get Happy Meals. Ha ha! Then Kurt's parents, my parents, Mikyla, Savannah, Ethan, Eli, Maggie, Sara and Jake came. We opened presents and had birthday cake. Small but fun! I can't believe she's two - she looks so grown up. A few pictures from the fun.

Happy Birthday Amelia!
My baby girls 1st birthday was Saturday. I suppose I can't call her a baby anymore - on her birthday she decided to attempt to do a little walking and standing on her own. It won't be long now! I can't believe this year went by so fast - it seems like she was just born and now she's got her own little attitude, chases after her brother, is into everything and is becoming a toddler. I love my little sweetie!!!
She's just a couple hours after she was born!

The Big 1 Year Old Princess!
The birthday party was lots of fun! Lots of presents, family, yummy food and cake! She was worn out and cranky by the end of the day - as you'll see from the slide show. I have lots of work to get done today - Enjoy the slide show! I wasn't going to make one, but there were just too many pictures!!!!! =)

Another Year Older
Yep - I had another one, another birthday to push me closer to getting slow enough I can't run after my kids. I'm pretty sure I feel older too - lol - I don't think so. It cracks me up when people ask you if you feel any older. I really need to find a witty remark for that comment, that won't offend. =)
I had a pretty good day - my in laws took us out for dinner Friday night and that was yummy. I got an iced tea maker which I'm pretty sure I'm in love with all ready. I've made several pitchers of sweet iced tea (for myself), with the amazingly yummy sweet tea recipe Teri gave me.
Saturday we went to my parents house and I got a beautiful flag to hang outside to replace the patriotic flag that's hanging. Not that I'm not all about the USA, but I'm just not into the American Flag hanging on my porch. Sorry! A candle which smells great (Yankee candle - my fav) and this hanging basket that is nowhere to be found in my area. Like I need another hanging basket - I'm pretty sure I have an obsession. Maybe I'll take a picture of all my hanging baskets. Ha ha ha ha.
My sisters watched Landen so my parents, Kurt, Amelia and I could go to dinner. Then we had some good cake, ice cream and root beer floats. No you can't see the picture of me blowing the candles out - my hubby didn't do such a great job. *tongue sticking out* Afterwards we went to the big firework celebration. It was cold and damp though - yes in June, it's not right. Landen hated them and freaked out and Amelia wasn't enjoying them much either, so we headed home.
It was fun and I still have some more gifts to pick out from my sweet family here. Here are a few pictures I can actually show - I'm pretty sure I should be the only one allowed to hold the camera. Kkkkuuurrrrtttt! Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone who sent me one. *Hugs*
Look at Landen in this one.. ha ha.. little frosting hog... he was just waiting to get his hands in it.. and believe me - he did! Can't blame him.. hmmm...buttercreme frosting, my favorite.

Oldie Shmoldie
It seems like every Tuesday I have this catch up post from the weekend. I guess I'll just hit the high lights and try from now on to keep on top of things so it's not like that.
Saturday we headed to my parents so I could do Becca's hair for prom. She looked gorgeous and her boyfriend looked equally as charming. I was glad to finally meet Joey... he seems so nice. Mom, Mikyla, Savannah, Amelia and I went to Prom Premiere - which was wonderfully only 15 minutes long. Unfortunately I didn't snap any good pictures - but I got some good ones at home so that didn't really matter. Beck and Joey were definitely the best looking and by far the most modestly dressed. Wow - some of the dresses these girls wear nowadays look like something you'd see on the red carpet -- meaning ... hello boobies! Becks hair turned out lovely, after several hours of practicing we got it up and looking fantastic in about 40 minutes and she said it didn't move all night long. The poof was looking great!
Friday I started the spring cleaning process of the house. I pretty much keep up on the cleaning so I don't have any major things to do, but there is some things and things we wanted to get done. Washing the windows inside and out and cleaning the porches is really the only big thing. We got pictures hung, finally - it only takes us about six months to get things hung up around here. My beautiful picture of Mary hanging clothes (which is on my sidebar) with baby Jesus is up. I love that picture and I'm so glad to have it in my viewing sight in my home.
We had children's adoration and Landen said his own prayer intentions and said the second half of Hail Mary - on his own (the part in italics)! "Hail Mary Full of Grace the Lord is with You, Blessed our Thou amongst woman and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary Mother Of God Pray For Us Sinners Now And At The Hour of Our Death, Amen." He's doing so well on his prayers. We got some new fish at the pet store, I really need to quit going there though because I always end up leaving with the feeling that we really need a little Yorkie. I guess I just have to remember how much I dislike animal hair with my kids being on the floor and that will shock me back into reality. Then we went to dinner and Kurt got himself a new nickname of Curb Jumper!

The poof was looking great!Sunday was Papa Bears (Kurt's other nickname) Birthday! The big 28.. he's getting old. We celebrated with his family. It turned out to be a beautiful day so we spent a lot of time outside. Landen and Amelia got wagon rides from grandma and Amelia loved her first wagon ride. I didn't think she was old enough, but she got buckled in and had the biggest grin on her face the entire time. It was a good day!
