The Freedom of Choice Act

Do you know what FOCA is? I certainly did not until the day after the presidential election and it seems a lot of things came known to me after that. We get a beautiful newsletter in our bulletins about once a month on Sundays called Life Matters. I believe I've brought some things up from it before. However, I was so glad to get this one all about FOCA because it really made me even more aware of what it was all about. It showed how different it really is compared to Roe v. Wade.

For those of you who don't know FOCA is "The Freedom of Choice Act," which Senator Obama has promised Planned Parenthood would be the first thing he would sign as President is dangerous legislation and it must be exposed."

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.

1. FOCA will invalidate laws to protect a woman from unsafe abortion clinics and to ensure that she is informed about abortion.
2. FOCA will require taxpayers to pay for abortions
3. FOCA will require states to allow "partial-birth" and other late-term abortions.
4. FOCA will require states to allow abortions by non-physicians
5. FOCA will bar laws protecting a right of conscientious objection to abortion
6. FOCA will deny parents an opportunity to be involved in their minor daughter's abortion decision.
