Sad with Hope
I will admit that my heart sank after realizing Barack Obama was voted as our new President. It made me sick and sad at the same time. Lots of nice posts I have read but I don't feel like saying anything nice really. Instead as I'm going through my regular reads I found this from Lerin at Beautiful Chaos, mostly written by Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life. It made me smile and think there is hope. Someday (hopefully soon) the unborn will have a right to live.

Great link, Andrea. Thank you. I really enjoyed reading her post.
I haven't read the article yet, but I wanted to leave this quick comment--I have been thinking about how abortion is still happening, even with a pro-life president and that our job is now to pray for people's hearts to change, even (and most especially!) Obama's heart. We have to look at the situation that is out of our control now (him being president) and accept it and then go out and do what we can do from our little corners of the world. I definitely have a fire lit under my butt after last night! I cried when, after a commercial break, the picture flashed up announcing that Barack won.....It was hard b/c I had JUST finished my novena :o(
Today, I said, "Well, let's just do what we can"--maybe he'll surprise us? (I don't really believe that...)
Sorry to ramble--It's one of "those" subjects.
Today, I am especially proud to be a life-respecting Catholic...
Hi Andrea!
Thanks for your comment. Yes even though our hearts are heavy we still have reason to hope. We need to start educating ourselves on FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act). This is a terrible bill which Obama has will be the first order of action once in office. If you look it up, you will see that it is so evil. For instance, there will be NO restrictions on abortions whatsoever and he will bring back partial birth abortion and all other late term abortion. We need to work to prevent this from happening!!
BTW, hope your little girl feels better :)
Thank you for linking me. I think it was a difficult day for Catholic Moms everywhere. I second Heather, that our next step HAS to be to educate everyone around us on the ramifications of FOCA. And continue to pray, tears running down our faces or not!
Education is key I am so glad you ladies are on it already and I suggest getting out to pray as much as possible now before it is no longer legal. Also educate about the Hyde amendment which does not allow our tax dollars to pay for abortions, Obama has promised to revoke this and then we will be forced to pay for abortions!!!! It is a sad day for our country when we vote based on age and race not on qualifications and ideas.
