I've been drinking entirely too much caffeine in the evening, to the point that it's keeping me up at night. I've never had this problem until the last year or so. Anyway, the last two nights it's been bad, to the point that I look at the clock at 1:30 and wonder why I'm not asleep yet. Laying there staring at the ceiling, tossing and turning, pondering over things that don't need to be dwelled upon. I hate nights like those!
Here's something that's been coming up a lot. How do you know when you have too much information on the Internet? Do I have too much info on the net? Should I not have my families names published so that people know who we really are? Is it not safe to enter the contest I enter? Or do the reviews I'm hoping to do soon? Am I being too trusting, naive thinking - why would anyone want to stalk me or my family? I don't know.. what about these other mom bloggers? Their blogs are so popular, all about their life and family.. they think it's okay? You can't even find mine if you Google it, but still the paranoia sets in.
On another note, how do you get your blog to be that famous, and have all these hits - a couple that come to mind adventures in babywearing, Fina Drea and From Dates to Diapers and Beyond? Not that I'm saying I want to have a famous blog, actually I don't. I like reading theirs though - but how do you sum it up, get all those people, all those reviews, writing for all these different place? I don't know! Do they have those same thoughts - is it safe?
So, that's a little of what was running through my mind for many hours of the night last night - along with the entire vaccination issue. Sometimes I don't know if what we're doing is the right thing and what happens when we try to send the kids to school, private school. What issue are we going to have to deal with then?

I have the same thoughts as you! I wonder sometimes if it is safe...and I also wonder how people get "famous" blogs like you said! I know that i love being able to do reviews and win stuff from contests though - and so far I haven't had any reason to NOT blog about my family, etc...but I do still wonder sometimes! And the vaccination thing...we are planning to homeschool our kids so I don't think that will be an issue, but it is an issue sometimes with certain Dr.'s and stuff...and I hate it that they have to make you feel like you are doing the completely wrong thing by not vaccinating!!
Hey, I have the exact same thoughts from time to time (lots of times when I am lying awake at night too =) For a while I had a private blog because I was really worried too!
I always tell people/clients who ask me that question; if you feel like you have to ask that question, then yes, you probably have too much information out there.
I just think better safe than sorry. I'll second what the previous commenter said..if it bothers you take it off! I can see why you'd want it to be popular if you are doing reviews but mine is just for friends and family so I really could care less if strangers like it. =]
Hello...Miss Paranoia speaking--I am going to have to answer most of this in an e-mail. I will say here, though, that I am always really careful not to post pics of our number on our house--and very very careful to make sure that our license plates are never posted even in the background in any pics. Beyond that, I have wondered if I should use abbreviations instead of names or just use nicknames, but friends always leave comments referring to me by my name--and say they're coming to visit. If someone wanted to find me, they could, but they'd have to really, really want it. I do worry about this, though, for the record (especially since I got the blog tracker and can see everyone who visits my blog and how long they were there...) More on that later. About vaccinations...I don't think there's any perfect answer...Unfortunately for all of us. There are pros and cons in both directions and I sort of feel like we non-vaxxers just need to hold out until the cons outweigh the pros of waiting, you know? Try to follow Jenny McCarthy and what she and Jim Carey are doing with "greening vaccines"--She has some great, practical, well researched info on this subject and is not anti-vaccine--Just thinks it should be done a better way. More on this later, too! :o)
