My First Cloth Diaper

I've been crazy figuring out what I wanted to do with the new baby for cloth diapers - however I decided a couple of weeks ago and have everything ordered and pretty much prepared for baby. I went with the prefolds, snappi and the new Thirsties Duo Wraps. I ended up not purchasing as many as I was originally because I have a lot more one-sized diapers that the baby will be able to wear, especially with Amelia working on potty training.

Other exciting cloth diaper news - I finally finished sewing/fixing all my fake Fuzzi Bunz. They definitely do not look professional but all the elastic is fixed and we can use every single one of them like we did when we first purchased. Fantastic because these eight were only being used for at home and had to be changed very quickly because they had no elastic in the legs anymore. Now we can use them whenever and at night time. *Thank you Teri*

While I was feeling creative and finally know how to put elastic in diapers - I also made my very first cloth diaper. It needs a snappi and cover, but is a one-sized, pocket diaper and it turned out darn good for my first try. I even made my own pattern by just looking at my BabyKicks diaper! It only took me about 45 minutes to figure it out, cut it out and sew it too. All out of left over quilt flannel so it cost me like nothing. Amelia wore it and it worked great - definitely different than what I'm used too - this was our first time even trying a snappi, but I'm impressed with myself!

What do you think? =) Photo's are without a cover.

Oh cute! I can't wait to see your little newborn in cloth diapers :) Isn't it way too much fun picking it all out?

That is an awesome diaper :) It looks so cute on Amelia! And it looks like you have definitely got snappi-ing down!
