Sharing!?!?!
When do children start learning to share!?!! I feel like I'm going crazy with Landen. I realize he's only two and it's normal to not want to share, but I'm ready for him to start sharing.. NOW! Sometimes he can be such a sweet little guy, wanting to share everything. Other times, it takes a lot of coaxing and telling him he's making his friends sad. Then we have time's he putting his cars in Amelia's hands telling her he wants to play and sharing so sweetly. Other days, he throws a puzzle piece (that's like a block) at someones head we don't know. Ahh! I suppose once he's out of the non-sharing phase, Amelia will be in it. Hold on, it's gonna be a lonnnggg ride!

Okay, gotta comment on this one, too! Do you ever notice that Landen won't share in the worst situations...you know, when the other people you're with are really bothered by it? Landon does this around my step-mom when he's playing with Ben. She's always yelling at him, which then upsets and embarasses him and we have a huge mess. Then Landon looks like a hoodlum when he's really just a fantastic, sweet kid. I don't want the selfish, rambunctious label pinned on him--That's gotta be bad even for a two year old.
Usually when he's not sharing, I go to him and tell him, "Well, if you're going to play with this, then pick out something special for Ben to play with(or whoever)." If Ben (or whoever--LOL) has something Landon wants and Landon snatches it from him, I take the toy back gently and return it to Ben and say, "Ben is playing with this right now. It's his turn and when he's done with this and puts it down, it'll be your turn." We go through this over and over in the same calm tone of voice til he gets bored of the charade and gives up. How does Landen react when he gets yelled at, by the way? We should just e-mail about this--I'm getting too long! Ha ha!
Jenn.. I'm lucky that the people we play with the most (teri) totally understands or I think I'd go nuts! I started writing more, I'll have to e-mail you.
