*For those who can appreciate a breast feeding mother!*
The last couple of days and nights Amelia has truly become a boob-aholic. All she wants to do is nurse, nurse, nurse, and nurse. As much as I enjoy breastfeeding - she's becoming quite annoying. LoL! Of course I let her do her little suckling/eating whenever she thinks she needs it. I am however - an on demand, pop the boo-boo out whenever the kid makes a peep breast feeding woman!
I just had to share this real quick though while I was officially "off" the computer doing the never ending task - laundry.
Besides the fact that Amelia is a boob-aholic, she has officially decided that my boo-boo's (shh - nips) are hers and I can't have them back.
So she's asleep in my arms and I decide it's time to lay her down and fold that load of laundry because the other is ready to be folded and I hate when they get wrinkly (more work for me later). I lay her down and she won't let go - yes she's sleeping. Grrr!
I lay her down, in her sleep and slowly try to get away - I finally break free - phew! Two seconds later - a horrible scream - oh no, she's realized the boo-boo is gone. I dash to her, (she really did sound like something horrible happened) the little pooh was instantly happy to see my face, but was mad once I picked her up. She wanted her boo-boo's back.
So, the boo-boo's are HERS - and today she's not about to give them up. Ahhh! When does my body become my own again? =) I do love being a breast feeding mommy!

Uh oh!! I just HAD to let out a little chuckle - just because the way you told makes it sound kind of funny :) but hopefully she'll let you have your boo-boos back soon! At least once she's sleeping. ;) I never had that problem with Tate - even though I nursed on demand too...he actually didn't even seem to care at all when I switched him from boob to bottle at 1 yr...I guess Amelia will be different than that though! Good luck! :)
ummm even using a binky Liesie has still claimed mine for her own so I'm guessing you're NEVER getting yours back HAHAHAHA As soon as one kid lets it go the next one will claim them. I joke all any of these people want me for is my boobs!
Brennan has been the same way lately! lol.
What do you do for Landen when Amelia is nursing so much more frequently?
LOL @ boobaholic..that gave me a chuckle lol.
In fun,
Marie lol
You know I of all people can understand this perfectly--I'm sure it's just a phase (and probably a growth spurt, too!) I just wanted to tell you how BLESSED I am to have you as a friend! It is so refreshing to hear a mom be able to complain about the difficulties and annoyances of breastfeeding (and other parenting issues and dilemmas) without giving up. You were even able to admit that despite the frustrations, you LOVE it! I felt the same way. Hang in there--You know it's all worth it! You're such a good mom! <3 <3 <3
Andrea - After your nice comments on my blog I had to come over and check out yours! This post of yours totally cracked me up! I have never called any of my kids a boob-aholic (never thought of it!) but I have nursed them all, on demand, until they were about two. Since they are all pretty close together my "boo-boos" haven't been my own for almost 8 years! Better luck to you! :-)
Once you become a Mom, nothing is your own again! We give our lives for our families, really - and it so worth it, isn't it? Nursing is such an important part of development in so many wonderful ways and I am glad that you are nursing on demand. Life speeds by - I hate to say it, but you'll turn around one day and wonder how your baby grew up right in front of you! ENJOY those cuddling times before they are gone!
God bless,
Donna
