The other day I was checking out some different blogs from my Catholic Mothers Online Blog roll and came across Kate Wicker's blog. I was very pleasantly surprised to find another SAHM that has similar interests as myself. (uh oh.. not another Andrea.. ha ha!) Her blog is great - not to mention she's a very good writer.
She has a great post - Will Work For Children, that you have to read. Too many times have I met people that didn't think a SAHM was all that great. We have a boring life, why give up that college education, like I was some sort of idiot because I stay home, I'm sure a lot of you have heard it all. It makes me feel bad sometimes, and I never know what to say in reply. I love my life, my vocation and that I stay home with my children. I would never trade it for anything. Check out her post on her thoughts about staying at home. It's worth it!

I love finding new blogs to read too...thanks for the tip!!
Thanks! I'll go check it out.
Recently, once again, I got into the debate over staying home, and that whole "wasting your talents & education" crap. That notion in society really pisses me off. I mean, how can people truly believe we're "wasting away" when we are raising other human beings? Especially when it lasts for such a short while?!
I admit to having more times than I'd like of thinking these same thoughts. But you know what? I had those thoughts when I was working, too, before children came into the picture. EVERY job has days like that, in my opinion. While I hate feeling like I don't like being a SAHM (every once in a while;), I still think it's the right things and the best thing.
Sorry to leave such a long comment! lol I am obviously sensitive to this subject.
