Recently I put up a survey on my review blog - mostly because I want to change a few things and wanted a little bit of direction from my readers. I've been getting some good feedback, except from one mean reply I got back from someone and from that made me really get thinking about something I've been thinking about for the last couple of months anyway.
You know how we are supposed to live our faith - not just go to church and that's it - really live it? Well I feel like we do that pretty well here, then I started thinking about my review blog. I said I was going to keep it strictly review blog stuff - BUT it's kind of like my job (not really, but in a sense) so I started thinking about how you should live your faith in your job...why then don't I have anything about being pro-life on there? Hmm.. not any good reasons that I could come up with. I have stuff posted all over on here, it's something I really want to make a difference in and most people that come across this site more than likely are pro-life, not for sure but nothing like my review site that gets thousands of different people visiting monthly.
After getting the not so nice email from someone - I decided that I needed to start reaching out everywhere and that's one place I may be able to make a little bit of a difference. I already have in my bio about being Catholic and following Christ ect. I didn't want to over load because it really does make the pages load in more slowly. However I put the same abortion ticker that's on my sidebar here on my review site. Probably not going to put much else - but that's a major thing going on right now.
Get this - I have had more people unsubscribe to my site in the last couple of days since I put it up there then ever before. Coincidence or not? I'm not sure unless I email them all and really I don't have the time to do that. However, I'm doing my part now on that site when for months I knew I wasn't. I said it and I'll say it again - if standing up for something really important makes most of my readers go away and companies no longer contact me or want me to do reviews, then so be it. I'm doing what's right. I just wanted to share that and sorry my thoughts were constantly being interrupted by my little monkeys so it didn't make complete sense I couldn't get all I wanted down.

Good for you for standing up for what you believe in!! I admire people who stand up for what they believe in so much more than those are ashamed...and I think that's true even for the people who are "mean" and unsubscribe, etc. from your blog...from my experience people who can't respect someone even though they may not 100% agree with their beliefs, usually have a lower self-esteem, and usually wish they could be more like the person they are tearing down...though they'd never admit it in a million years! :)
Good for you.
I started a Vlog for this pregnancy and got some NASTY comments about how I needed to get fixed and stop breeding. I have a friend on the same channel that decided to make her vlogs more faith based and a lot of people have un subbed from her. It's just how screwed up people are. It's sad. I guess you know you are doing the RIGHT thing when it's based on God and people get mad...as backwards as that seems. LOL!
Oh...I meant to comment you back about the Wolfs purse (Was that the name? lol) I would love more info. I asked my MW about it but she hasn't heard of it.
*HUGS*
Good for you! It's more important to be true to who you are and what you believe in than to have a few extra readers for your blog. :D
I've unsubscribed from blogs before because I didn't agree with a person politically or religiously. But I usually only do so if we aren't really clicking otherwise.
Hip, Hip, Hurrah for you.
Go toot your horn!
I had a friend once who said that if I didn't support/advertise/espouse the causes that I believe in who would? jean
Kudos to you!!!
I think it's sad that these people chose to unsubscribe, mainly because they're acting as though you no longer offer them anything, or that they can no longer gain from coming here. So wrong! Despite religious/personal differences, there WAS a reason for people to come, and I think it's important for people to see that we can all enjoy some of the same things...meaning us pro-lifers aren't out of touch & boring, and pro-choicers aren't all mean/hurtful.
Their loss. Don't let it bug you.
I admire that you're standing up for your beliefs!
Something you might not have thought about: it might be just the 'display' of your ticker. I was trying to read your giveaway but I found the flickering of the red numbers to be extremely distracting; they kept flashing into my vision and taking my attention away from what I was reading.
I hope most people will continue to respect your right to your beliefs. I know I will. Good luck with everything.
Good for you. :)
That IS interesting! I would think only SERIOUS pro-choicers would be that bothered by it. I do agree thou that it may be the ticker itself thou...I know your site is blocked by our parental blocker just because it blocks ANY references to abortion and I have to put in a password every time I want to access it.
Good for you! You are a strong women who is a great example to us all!
You did what you had to. Your Site is awesome and if you add a little concience than so be it! You did your part!
I think it's great to let your "true colors" show. I always like review sites that have a little "personality" best.
Follow your heart...that's what I say. :)
Wishing you success,
Stephanie
