Mei Tei

I finally got my Mei Tei and I love it! It's so much quicker to get on than the Moby wrap - I do still like my Moby wrap a lot though, especially for little babies. Amelia however is definitely ready for something else, now that she has (has had for sometime) good control over her head and body. =)

I wore Amelia shopping today - facing out and facing in. She enjoyed both, and loved being out of that darn seat. It was really quick to get on too - first store I actually had to put the entire thing on once we got in and the second store I had it already on and just had to put her in and tie.

I think the padded straps would be really nice, so if I were to get another one I would probably get the padded straps. Especially for times when she's going to be in it a lot longer.

Mine is also reversible - which I really like. Mostly so if Kurt wanted to wear it, he wouldn't have to have the quilted pattern showing, if he didn't want too. It's completely khaki colored on the inside.

I'm also glad I didn't get the longer straps, I was debating whether not I should so I could wrap it around front and then tie in the back. I think they would just get in the way though, and drag on the floor when putting it on somewhere else - and that's gross if you think about it. They're plenty long enough to wrap around my back and tie in the front with extra hanging.

Also, I mastered the whole nursing while wearing baby in the carrier. Something I had watched and read a lot about, but haven't been able to do it. I had a lower cut shirt (not that low, but not like a winter turtle neck) on today and a different type bra (so that might have helped). Anyway, nursing while carrying was great and helpful. Before, I always had to get her out to nurse and then she'd fall asleep, I'd lay her down and she'd wake up, vicious cycle. This way I can just put her in, do our thing, nurse her, let her fall asleep and continue going. Yay!

As you can see I posted some pictures - courtesy of the honey. I think it's cute! I'm looking forward to using this carrier a lot! I purchased this from Cuddling Baby. She sells these at her eBay store. You can bid or purchase now!

Awwww, 2 pretty girls AND a pretty mei tai!!! That is a really nice one, I love it! I'm headin' over to check this site out now, I think! I've been wanting a mei tai for a while, because I think sometimes they OR slings would be much easier..not that I don't love my wraps, I do!!! :) Hope your house is starting to feel better too :-)

That's awesome! I'm glad you love your new mei tai so much! I LOVE mine too - and it's SO nice for when your babies get a bit older! Right now I still wear Tate in the mei tai on my back all the time. Mine does have slightly padded straps though...they are super nice. :) I love the quilted pattern though...and the fact that it's reversible!

Very cute! (your hair looks cute in these pics too!) And you are right the long straps do end up dragging too low. Good choice!
Possibly a stupid question but did you just lay a blanket over yourself while she nursed then?? The way you described is the only way I have been able to nurse in the pouch and I always felt like I was completely hanging out there. I was thinking I'd need to get one of those nursing shirts with the cropped outer layer if I wanted to be able to lift my shirt UP.

LOVE your MT! Super cute pattern. I'm glad to hear it's easy to catch on to. Would you say it's easier than getting Amelia on your back w/ the wrap? (You know I STILL can't get Brennan on my back w/ the wrap. I've given up)

The pictures are great, too, by the way. :) You're pretty! And Amelia is adorable.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Cute pic!!!! When I finally have another baby, you are going to have to teach me the ropes with all of this babay-wearing stuff! I know nothing! :o) I heard it makes taking care of a second baby soooo much easier!

I've heard great things about the Mei Tei; it's one carrier I don't have but would like to try. Right now my fave is the Ergo. Just went on a walk with the babe in it, in fact. It's a beautiful spring day here in Georgia. FYI - I put together a baby carrier guide of sorts. You can find it here: http://katewicker.blogspot.com/2008/01/baby-carrier-reviews-resources.html

God bless!

cute mei tai. i have one in the same print actually! :-)

i got a lil advice tho. when u wear her spread the strap out as much as you can... and place it away from your neck, more on your shoulder. otherwise the strap cuts into ur neck muscles.
