I miss out on all the cool stuff
I'm disappointed -- last night we had an earthquake and I ignored the rattling of our windows and the shaking of the bed -- I thought it was just a big truck driving by.

What the..??? You had an earthquake??!!! Oh my gosh! Is everything okay?
I heard about that quake earlier today...wow. Are you guys Ok? We live on a fault line and I am terrified of those things!
ehhh, it was only a 5.2...you didn't miss much. :)
David- what's a 5.2?... ha ha ha!
It's how they measure the strength of the earthquake. It's called the Richter Scale. They measure at the epicenter of the earthquake, so while it was 5.2 (out of 10), you probably experienced a weaker earthquake (called an aftershock) (probably around 4.0 or so).
As a point of reference, the one that happened in California in 1989 (and yes, I still remember the day clearly) was a 6.9. We lived about 2 1/2 hours from that epicenter.
David.. thanks for the info! I knew what the Richter Scale was I was just being a dork! :)
SURE you did... :)
David-- you wanna fight!?!?!? LOL!!
BRING IT! July 5th! You and me!!
Mother or no mother, you're goin' DOWN!
